General Description

Intellectual Property Rights and Patenting' facilitates a comprehensive understanding of the principles, laws, and practices surrounding intellectual property (IP) protection and patenting. Throughout this course, doctoral candidates will explore the fundamentals of IP rights, including patents, trademarks, copyrights, and trade secrets, focused on applications in the financial domain. The course teaches how to navigate the legal landscape of IP, assessing the criteria for patentability, the process of patent application, and strategies for enforcing and defending IP rights. Candidates will be immersed in the economic, ethical, and strategic implications of IP protection, exploring their role in fostering innovation, promoting competition, and facilitating technology transfer. By the end of this course, candidates will possess the knowledge and skills to effectively navigate the complexities of IP rights and patenting, enabling to protect and leverage intellectual assets in the knowledge-driven digital finance domain.
