About

Stefana is a PhD Candidate and Research Assistant in the Department of Mathematics-Forecasts-Statistics in the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration, BBU Cluj-Napoca, Romania, with her thesis on Space-Time Predictive Econometrics. 


She is a collaborating member of the Interdisciplinary Data Science Center, in BBU and part of the project ”A better understanding of socio-economic systems using quantitative methods from Physics”.


Key Achievements and Outputs

  • Published multiple articles on Spatial Statistics and Econometrics, NLP, (web)GIS

  • Data Science Consultant in a private company, working for projects from multiple industries: banking, retail, finance, telecom, gaming, health, tourism, and mortgage market. Currently part of the local Data Leadership team, working as the location lead for the AI community and as a Career Coach. Held various trainings, student summer schools, internships. Participated in and organized different events partnering with Google, Kaggle, and Snowflake.

  • WG1 nd WG2 member for Romania in the COST action CA19310 FinAI – Fintech and Artificial Intelligence in Finance – Towards a Transparent Financial Industry, 2020-2024

  • Member of the Spatial Econometrics Association

  • Member of the Interdisciplinary Center for Data Science, Babes-Bolyai University
