Dr. Mahak Sharma is currently serving as an Assistant Professor at University of Twente. Her primary focus is in the fields of sustainability, circular economy and digital transformation with a vision on developing new strategies and approaches towards sustainable and circular production, consumption, and waste management. She is also  actively researching  in fields such as sustainable supply chain and human-machine interaction with a deep understanding and focus on the latest trends, technologies, and policies in the field. She is committed to interdisciplinary collaborations that help build a more sustainable and circular future. Further, in the field of digital transformation in agriculture, she has numerous publications on innovative solutions that leverage technology to improve sustainability, efficiency, and productivity in the agricultural sector. 


She is doctorate from Indian institute of Management (IIM) (Formerly- National Institute of Industrial Engineering (NITIE)), India. She holds a Masters and a Bachelors with Honours in Computer Science and Engineering. She is the one of the few female recipients of POMS Honourable Mention for research work from India. She has publications in various reputed journals and conferences including Annals of Operation Research, Technological Forecasting and Social Change, IEEE Transactions of Engineering Management, Journal of Cleaner Production. She is on the Editorial Review Board of prestigious journal IEEE Transactions of Engineering Management. She also has over six years of industry experience in product management and software development.
