General Description
TED University (TEDU) is a university founded by Turkish Education Association (TED) – Higher Education Foundation. TED has been pioneering the development of education in Türkiye since 1928 with more than 40 high-profile K12 schools across the country.
TEDU is a ‘city university’ located in the center of Ankara maintaining open collaborative relations with its neighborhood, city of Ankara in general and various stakeholders. According to 2023 data, TED University ranked among the top 5 foundation universities in Turkey and ranked in the top 10 in the General Satisfaction Ranking, which includes all universities. Being one of the very few liberal arts universities in Turkey, TEDU also desires to create a collaborative, skill and competency based, problem driven learning environment and encourages its students to be active citizens. There are 23 undergraduate programs, 314 Faculty Members, and about 5500 students. Through academically rigorous coursework, dynamic teaching, meaningful research, and a myriad of opportunities for students to engage locally and abroad the university seeks to build a diverse community of socially responsible, globally minded, lifelong learners.
The university's research portfolio streches from social innovation and social entrepreneurship, urban design and history, social segregation and mobility, special needs education including the gifted, innovation and use of technology in education, social entrepreneurship and sustainability, psychology research, immigration, gender, employment, machine learning, data science, high performance computing to artificial intelligence and robotics.
TEDÜ is an international university and a member of the Euclid Network, Global Impact Investing Network, UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network and Global Steering Group for Impact Investment.
